Who is Mitchell?

Mitchell is our son.

He was with us for only two short months, but his life and loss, changed the way we see family, community, and the time we’re given together. In our hardest season, we learned just how much community matters. The love we received inspired us to carry that same spirit forward, building something in Mitchell’s name that brings people together and cares for the community around us. We began with a mission to strengthen our local food community, and that remains part of who we are. We’ll continue growing and sourcing the freshest food we can and providing a marketplace for local makers.  But after a year of getting to know our customers and seeing what families cherish about the farm, we realized we had found a new pillar of Mitchell’s legacy. Memories. Because they don’t just remind us of our lives. They shape our lives, our families and our children. The places we take them, the traditions we create, the things we do together over and over again, those moments become their childhood.

We’re taking a place that families have already visited and loved and growing it into something more, a farm filled with reasons to come back throughout the year, experience the changing seasons together, and build traditions your children recognize as part of their childhood. We want to create a place that gives families a reason to slow down, get outside, and spend time together. A place children grow up visiting. A place where each changing season gives families another reason to come back and make a new memory. We can’t slow down time. We can’t keep our children little. And none of us know how many seasons we’ll be given with the people we love.

So come out. Put your phone down. Breathe the fresh air. Listen to your children laugh. Because at Mitchell’s Family Farm, we believe some of the most important things we grow aren’t grown in the ground.
